OK, I got pulled away by therapy, doing some new job onboarding stuff, and a couple of naps, but I have finally finished outlining the full game!
After I did a bit of work in the morning, I realized that I had forgotten to account for a type of bonus payment in mahjong called honba payments, meaning my scores were all off. So I restarted much later in the day, and then I realized that I forgot to account for the differences between dealers and non-dealers winning and had to start over again. Definitely annoying to deal with, but it caused me to unlearn a few misconceptions that I had about how scoring works.
This outline turned out much longer than I expected, but I think makes for a very cute story. Unfortunately, like I said, I don’t know if I can publish this without first making the next release of Quoll due to a character I use in both, but I do have a handful of other past stories from social media that I think I’ll make official releases of. I’ll also try to finish up a few other stories I had ideas for so hopefully y’all should see some of those soon.
But for now, I think I’m going to call it a night, and go actually play some mahjong instead of write mahjong. Night!
