It’s been a very long time since I’ve worked on Quoll and thus made updates to this site! But that doesn’t mean that I haven’t been working on game dev, and I’ll talk more about what I’ve been doing under the fold. And I may not actually have that much time to work on Quoll before I get called away to yet another project… But let’s see what can get done with the time I do have!

So the first reason that I’ve been doing so little work on Quoll is that during the month of June I was extremely busy. Besides my day job, I am a member of an all-trans and non-binary choir, STANCE, and we had several concerts in June for Pride Month. That of course required extra rehearsals. On top of that I was playing rec league soccer on the weekends!

But perhaps the biggest reason is that I joined a team for this summer’s BiG Byte Game Jam! I was responsible for being half of the software development team, and it was an exhilarating experience that has helped recharge my game dev energies. Our completed game is called The Bloom Between. There are still a lot of issues I wish I had time to fix and many assets we never got integrated, but I think we still did a great job given the deadline, and we even got 3rd place overall! Of course, I couldn’t have done it without our great team! (And you might find me working with some of that team again very soon… :3)

That actually finished at the end of June, but immediately after that, I took a nice break and then caught up on the latest chapters of Deltarune which, with playing with the relationship between player and player character, is definitely sure to be an influence on what I’m doing in Quoll (well, technically, the “prequel” Undertale is probably more of the influence, but I had played chapter 1 of Deltarune for sure when I started on Quoll). But I wrapped that up yesterday, so now I can go back to Quoll!

Last time I was working on Quoll, I was adding some new actions to handle shows of affection such as HUG, KISS, and uh… COPULATE. I got the plumbing working, but I still need to actually write some responses!

Let’s get on that!
